Looking to the Future

Before I jump into the main bulk of the rant, I feel the need to tell you of a little story that happened at work last night.

In case you don't know, there are a couple of hobos that like to purchase food from us, at Burger King. One of them male, one of them female. We've contemplated many things about them. We've wondered how we could get the two together, we've thought about giving them all of our waste (but they'd keep comming back), and we've even contemplated whether or not the male hobo was a doctor or not. (Yes this is a refrence to VGCats) Because of this we will call the male Dr. Hobo, the female wasn't here last night.

Now Dr. Hobo, he's an interesting man. He sits outside, under our sign. He doesn't ask for money, people just give him some. Then he comes in, and buys hamburgers, and coffee. Fair enough. He also seems to have this little creature sitting on his shoulder that no one can see but him, because he likes to talk to his shoulder, incohearently too, I might add. Not too uncommon, I see it happen alot in animes.

Last night, I couldn't resist, I had to know if he was infact a Doctor or not. I asked Ekka (another funny/cool employee who was in the dinning room at the time, he's asian, there's a reference to his race later on) if he would ask him. Ekka said sure, he was closing the dining room anyway. So here's how the conversation ensued...

*Dr. Hobo goes to get a coffee refill

*Ekka walks over to Dr. Hobo

Ekka: Hey man, it's time for us to close the dinning room, so yeah if you could leave when you're done... you know...

*Dr. Hobo turns to Ekka

*Dr. Hobo starts walking toward Ekka as he yells somewhat incohearantly...

Dr. Hobo: Hey! I don't need you Mexican punks telling me when I can leave! I can leave when I'm ready to leave! You Mexicans have NO RESPECT, NO RESPECT! You can't tell me when I can leave! How are you gonna (mumble mumble)

*about this time Dr. Hobo walks away from Ekka and back to refilling his coffee...

Dr. Hobo continues: ...and Customers.... (mumble mumble) ...My FOOD! (mumble mumble) ...NO Business! (mumble) leave... (mumble) MANager... (mumble) MEXICAN!

*Ekka remembers the question

Ekka: Hey man... you a doctor? A DOCTOR!?

*Dr. Hobo turns to Ekka and continues mumbling, but nothing that either of us could make out.

*As Dr. Hobo leaves the Dinning room, Ekka follows, with a respectible distance between them.

Ekka: Hey, Dr. Hobo man! The Dinning Room's closed! THE DINNING ROOM IS CLOSED! YOU, HAVE, TO, LEAVE, SON! HEY, THE DINNING ROOM IS CLOOOOSED, CLOSED DINNING ROOM!!! YOU CAN'T STAY HERE!

*At this point Dr. Hobo decides it's time to go to McDonalds accross the street.

It was an interesting experience to say the least.

Ok, on to what I was going to say...

First off, for this week's comic, I'm going to change it a bit. Instead of doing one comic, I'm going to be doing five sketches of our Sakura-con outting. One a day on the weekdays. Then I'll see if I can't have a comic up next Monday. I'm still having difficulty deciding which comic I want to use... I think I've got one, but I need some initial comics that introduce us all, that's in a way what the Sakura-con sketches will be for.

I'm going to start bugging Eijima for a rant. I don't like doing it, but I know that if I don't it won't get done ^_^ I do know that the guy is really busy, but I'm an anal bastard, so it's all good! The reason why I push for Eijima's rants is because there's nothing better then one of his rants, they're so entertaining to read, that I'm sure this site could sustain itself with just his rants.

With that being said, I'm going to talk to Jessica today about working on a new site layout and everything. I know Cody's also working on a site layout, but I'm going to use his for the video game company. I'm also looking into switching servers, and getting a domain. Keenspace was always just a temporary home anyway. That, and there servers just plain blow... so much traffic, so slow... therefore it's time to move on. Soon I plan on saving up, and throwing some money down for a dedicated server for our sites.

Earlier this year I went to a local ISP for businesses, they also have a very large cooled, and secure server room. I liked their layout so much, that once I start saveing for that server, I'm going to go pay them another visit, and see how much it will cost for us to host our server there.

Well that's all for now...
